Pathway to develop a sustainable alternative to synthetic primers for metal protective coating applications

Traditional metal protective coatings play a critical role in preventing corrosion and enhancing the longevity of metal structures and products across various industries. However, the chemicals used in these traditional coatings can contribute to pollution, toxicity, and non-biodegradability, raising serious sustainability concerns. There is a significant need to develop fully sustainable solutions that offer comparable metal protection while providing antimicrobial, antifouling, and UV-resistant properties, thereby reducing environmental impact.
